about

The new songs share the same explorative spirit of the early days but the resulting compositions sound bigger and more evolved with the band’s collective trust and experience revealing a seasoned sound. Our third single Perfect Silence follows the propulsive song Ninth Path and the melodic juggernaut second single Our Own. Perfect Silence features a contemplative verse, a propulsive chorus, dynamic drums, a dark bridge and bright outro. The lyrics touch upon wonder, belief, and finding emergence and solace from turmoil. “All the perfect silence resonates right through your almond eyelids”. When the world seems unsettled, sometimes the unspoken tethers of love and connection are the balm that holds things together.

lyrics

do need to need to know all about it?
leave yourself time to wonder
give yourself time to wonder

you don’t have to draw lines around it
open the arms you’ve folded
open the heart you’re born with
look around, gather up space and remember
how far you have come

oh… so many conjure a reason to doubt it, doubt it, doubt it

easy now to see that
all the perfect silence
resonates right through your almond eyelids
wrap around me like the skin of a stone

feeling the tide shift
growing tired of bargain shopping buy in
is your love unrequited
is your birth suit confining?

look around
unzip your hull with the rhythm of your breath

everybody wants you to find it
right out in the open
everybody wants you to find it
all these signs they are telling you something
open the blinds and free up the sun

all the perfect silence
resonates right through your almond eyelids
wrap around me like the skin of your bones

hold that tub when the mightiest winds blow
roofs do cartwheels over the windows
hearts they beat like the head of a drum
the head of a drum, your head is the drum
spin like tops over neighborhood street blocks
turn back lives like eraser and chalk
broken black boards chimneys and clocks
the memories … flock

all the silence
resonates right through your eyelids
open blinds and free up the sun
